Salaamalekum!
Actually, my family is originally from Senegal, so it is really sad, but I don't know more than very few sentences...
My request is this: A friend of mine takes part in a very important international competition for film music. There is a really touching film about the desert and an attempt to bring water there, and she has to write the music for it. As I am a singer myself, I am going to sing the vocal part. She suggested it to be sung in Arabic, but I said "Why not do it in Wolof? An African language is much more interesting than Arabic. The problem: I don't speak Wolof, but I wasn't too worried as I thought I'd just ask family members via facebook. But they did not answer and I waited and tried and waited, and now we have to record the music and I don't have the words!!!
I would be very very grateful if you could translate some few sentences for us so we can record the music. It should be something like
"I'll lead you to the waters, my child, to the waters of freedom and peace and I promise to make the desert blossom for you to walk free This is my promise to you, my child.
(It's a translation itself from German...)
I'd be very grateful if you might help us.
Best wishes! Anna Binta
